Our staff is highly trained in emergency and evacuation plans. OUR CATAMARAN COMPLIES WITH ALL NATIONAL RULES AND REGULATIONS REQUIRED BY THE MARITIME DIVISION OF THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION: “SAFETY PLAN, CERTIFICATE OF SEAWORTHINESS, AND I.N.S. INSURANCE POLICIES.”

 

With the comfort of our passengers in mind, The Great Bay’s Princess Catamaran has several levels for maximum enjoyment:

 

• First level: This area is used by our crew. There is a fully-equipped kitchen for special events, and also rooms for crew members, the engine room and storerooms.

• Second level: It has a spacious main lounge, which has an incredible panoramic view. It has air-conditioning, furniture, restrooms, and a bar serving delicious cocktails. If you are adventurous, you can ride on the bow (front); there you can enjoy the sun, sea breezes and the spectacular views of the Gulf of Nicoya.

• Third level: This is where our cockpit is located, along with a sun deck, restrooms, bar, tables and chairs, and our Jacuzzi for 25 persons. Our catamaran is ideal for special events such as: weddings, birthdays, incentive groups, end-of-year celebrations, New Year’s celebrations, or any other maritime activity. It can be operated both day and night.

 

DAYS OF OPERATION: In High Season: Every day. In Low Season: Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, or any day with a minimum of 50 persons.

 

TOUR DESCRIPTION: In the Gulf of Nicoya, there is a heavenly archipelago of several islands with lush natural beauty and a sanctuary that is home to seabirds, white sandy beaches, and the flora and fauna of our Central Pacific region. Tortuga Island is located in this beautiful archipelago. Situated 12 nautical miles from Puntarenas, Tortuga Island (called by local indigenous people “Tolinga”) has an area of 120 hectares and is maintained as a protected forest, which has been awarded the Ecological Blue Flag for more than five years.

This distinction is awarded to beaches in our country that have pollution-free waters. Due to its geographical features, Tortuga Island’s waters are clear turquoise, which are optimal for swimming.

 

RATES INCLUDE:

 

• Ground transportation: San José-Puntarenas-San José, from hotels in the San José metropolitan area, Jacó, Guanacaste and other parts of the country. (For groups, please consult us about transport.)

• Specialized bilingual guide throughout the journey, ENGLISH / SPANISH. (Other languages please inquire.) Breakfast snack served on the bus.  Maritime transport on board our GREAT BAY‘S PRINCESS CATAMARAN or BAY´S PRINCESS YACHT, sailing the Gulf of Nicoya for an hour and 30 minutes, seeing beautiful landscapes.

• We will serve: tropical fruits, fish ceviche, natural drinks, farewell cocktail and snacks.

• Live music: Enjoy the entertainment provided by our live musicians; those who are more adventurous can accompany them on your favorite song.

• Professional entertainment throughout the tour.

• Lunch on the Island: 

• Appetizers: Two delicious cold salads with dressings.

• Main Course: Fillet of fish and chicken, both cooked on the grill, each with their respective sauces, vegetarian rice and sautéed vegetables.

• Wine: Accompany your lunch with a glass of exclusive house

white wine.

• Dessert: Be surprised by the creativity of our chef, and accompany your dessert with a tasty coffee from Costa Rica.

• Our menus were developed with your health and

nutrition in mind.

 

 

ACTIVITIES: Beach volleyball is included in the package.

 

 

WHAT TO BRING: SWIMSUIT, EXTRA CLOTHES, TOWEL, SUNSCREEN, HAT, AND CAMERA.

 

You may also inquire into the different activities offered on the Island, such as kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, and banana boats, among others.

 

ITINERARY: (TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY VARY)

• 6:00 a.m.: Pick up passengers in San José

• 7:00 a.m.: Breakfast snack served on bus.

• 8:30 a.m.: Arrive in Puntarenas.

• 10:30 a.m.: Arrive to Tortuga Island.

• 1:00 p.m.: Lunch served on the Island.

• 4:00 p.m.: Depart from Tortuga Island. 

• 6:00 p.m.: Arrive to Puntarenas.

• 8:30 p.m.: Arrive back in San José.
